“Like listening to Patty Griffin and Susan Tedeschi at the same time!”

— Central Square Records, Seaside Florida

“…basically, she’s William Faulkner with a guitar.”

— Rich Warren, WFMT-FM Chicago

Louise grew up in the small town just outside of Nashville, TN on a farm with British parents and several siblings – riding horses, writing poetry and singing with the radio. After college in Knoxville, she “borrowed” her brother’s Sears guitar, bought a simple chord book and started writing songs.

She moved back to Nashville in 2004 with her husband to work on her songwriting skills. She had a very fortuitous co-writing experience with Ray Kennedy which changed her life. She “rediscovered” her Southern roots and started writing new songs that reflected the images and stories of her youth in rural Tennessee. Her 3rd CD, “Home”, was released in early 2010 and went to #1 on the Folk DJ charts in January 2010 and ended up at #11 for the year. In 2014, she released “Lay It Down”, a spare acoustic collection of songs written after the death of her mother and a painful divorce.

In 2024-2025, Louise raised $15,000 through her fan base to make her newest album “Paris” and returned to her maiden name of Coombe. Louise’s new release, “Paris”, was produced by Cliff Eberhardt with a full band featuring Broadway musician, Seth Farber (“Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”), on keyboards, Violinist Carol Sharar, Dave Trenholm on saxophone, Mark Fraser on cello and Pete Adams on pedal steel. The band also included Paul Kochanski (Lori McKenna) on bass and drummer Keith Levreault along with background singers Bobby Sweet (Arlo Guthrie) and Lara Tupper. Stylistically more “torchy” than her previous releases, Louise has also been co-writing with living folk legend, Tom Paxton, via Zoom for two years and three of their songs appear on the new album.
